Both Caleb and son Caleb appear to have been "Justices" and some information has been co-mingled between profiles.
Primary reference was FHC Digital Copy of "Descendants of John O'Dell" born in 1435 in Warkworth, Northampton, England and died in 1496 and includes many families that settled in New York, Connecticut and elsewhere[1]
One of these children appears to be Caleb m. 1788 Jane McDaniel [3]

1795 Caleb Odell sold William Boring 76-3/4 acres on Brush Creek, for 55£. The land bordered Charles Reno/Reneau. The deed was witnessed by Thomas Gourley and John Tipton. (Cocke County was a part of Brush Creek in Washington, Greene Co., Tennessee (Cocke Formed in 1797).
